Glenn Smith – Chief Executive Officer and Board Member Fibregen plc

Glenn Smith started his career in the UK power industry before moving to British Gas in the early 1990’s where Glenn held positions of increasing responsibility within its international business development group, and gained extensive experience in project financing of major infrastructure projects. Glenn was recruited to a power development company in Seattle in 1996. Glenn has held leadership positions within several energy and water technology start up companies including VP Marketing, COO, CEO and Board roles, and has secured numerous forms of private, public and government financing for various clean tech companies in the USA and UK. Glenn co-founded T2M Resources, Inc., a sustainable resources company focused on renewable energy opportunities. Glenn is the Chief Executive Officer for Fibregen plc. Glenn has a Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) in Mechanical Engineering.


John Stirling – Chief Financial and Operating Officer and Board Member Fibregen plc

John Stirling started his career as an aircraft engineer at United Airlines then, after completing his MBA at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), John joined Deloitte & Touche Management Consulting in Los Angeles. John consulted to the high technology, banking, health care and utility industries for seven years which included relocating his family to Seattle in 1993. Seeking out significant line management experience, John joined Premera Blue Cross as VP Operations Development and shortly afterwards joined the board of an energy technology startup. After 3 years, John joined the startup as VP Corporate Development and CFO where he supported fund raising efforts and helped prepare the company for investor due diligence. John later developed his own consulting practice before co-founding T2M Resources, Inc., a sustainable resources company focused on renewable energy opportunities. John also has bachelor degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Economics from the University of Washington.


Mark Campanale – Non Executive Director and Board Member Fibregen plc

Mark Campanale worked overseas, primarily in Africa, as a development economist in the not for profit sector, before going into sustainable investment management just over twenty years ago. Mark’s area of interest is in the finance of clean tech companies, sustainable asset management and ecosystems services, principally forests. Mark currently serves on HMG’s Forest & Finance Advisory Board leading up to Copenhagen Summit. Recruited as one of the Europe’s first specialist, sustainable investment analysts in 1989, Mark is a co-founder of the sustainable investment businesses firstly at Jupiter Asset Management with the Ecology Funds (1989-1994); NPI with Global Care Funds (1994-1999); AMP Capital with the Sustainable Future Funds (1999-2001) and Henderson Global Investors with the Industries of the Future Fund (1999-2006). At present, Mark has an advisory role with Halloran Philanthropies. He also has a small corporate finance practice in London, Four Elements Capital, specializing in forestry, agriculture and clean technology.

Mark is a Founder Director of the UK Sustainable & Responsible Investment Forum (1990-2008), served on the World Business Council for Sustainable Development working group on capital markets leading up to the 1992 Earth Summit; was a Member of the Steering Committee of UNEP Financial Sector Initiative (1999-2003), serves as Hon Treasurer, The Rainforest Foundation (UK) (2004-present), Advisory Board member of 3iG, the International Interfaith Investment Group; Advisor to Halloran Philanthropies; and is founder Director of The Social Stock Exchange, funded by the Rockefeller Foundation and Halloran Philanthropies. Mark is a Non Executive Director of The Carbon Assets Fund, for Carbon Capital Markets; a Non Executive Director of the Caudex Capital Sustainable Timber Fund and the Meteor Clean Energy Fund. Mark holds an M.Sc in Agricultural Economics from Wye College.


Rick (Richard) Squires – Non Executive Chairman and Board Member Fibregen plc

Rick has extensive experience in international energy business across a wide range of activities and fuels. Rick began his career as a graduate engineer for the South West Electricity Board. He then moved to the Royal Dutch Shell Group, where he spent over 25 years in a range of roles in the UK and overseas including senior management positions in Shell Coal International, Shell Gas & Power and Shell International Trading, leaving when he was head of the power business within Shell Gas & Power, London. Rick also worked for Shell in Japan and South Africa.

Until 2003, Rick was based in Boston, USA for four years with InterGen, an international power company where he was Senior Vice President responsible for Planning, Strategy and Investor Relations.

Rick was until the end of April 2009 Chairman of Eclipse Energy UK Ltd, which is developing a 150MW offshore wind farm as well as onshore wind generation assets in the UK. The company was recently sold to Vattenfall.

He is Non-Executive Director of the Good Energy Group, a company supplying 100% renewable electricity to the UK retail and commercial markets. He is also a non-executive director of Senergy Alternative Energy, a division of the multi-discipline energy services group Senergy.

He is also a Senior Advisor to an executive search company specializing in the renewable clean energy, new technology, power and finance sectors. Rick lectures on the energy business for a Boston based Management Education company and holds a First Class Honors degree in Electrical Engineering and a Masters Degree in Business Studies.
